Large Aperture Scintillometer BLS450 Neo
The Scintec BLS450 Neo Large Aperture Scintillometer is a high-performance optical instrument designed to measure atmospheric turbulence and sensible heat flux over path lengths ranging from 500 m to 6000 m (or 100 m with Path Reduction Aperture). When integrated into a meteorological station, it can also be used to determine evapotranspiration over extended areas. Scintillometers operate by sensing turbulence between an optical transmitter and receiver. Atmospheric refractive index fluctuations modulate the light beam, creating a phenomenon known as scintillation—the same effect that causes stars to twinkle.
